Vegan a Go-Go!: A Cookbook & Survival Manual for Vegans on the Road
Vegan a Go-Go!: A Cookbook & Survival Manual for Vegans on the Road
Sarah Kramer is a vegan superstar; she was named “The World’s Coolest Vegan” by Herbivore Magazine, and her first three cookbooks have sold a combined total of over two hundred thousand copies. Vegan a Go-Go! represents a change of pace for Sarah: it is a cookbook and more for vegan travelers, many of whom are daunted by the idea of going on the road and being able to locate and/or prepare the kind of nutritious animal-free meals they enjoy at home.
The new book includes 150 recipes, many of them new, and others that have been adapted from her earlier books. All of the recipes are easy to prepare with a minimum of ingredients and are guaranteed to deliver energy, nutrition, and great flavor. The rest of the book contains information and advice pertinent to vegan travelers, from how to deconstruct a restaurant menu to what food items are best suited to carry around in your luggage or handbag. There’s even a section on “How to Say ‘I Am Vegan’” in numerous languages.
The book is also designed with the traveler in mind: it is small enough to slip into one’s pocket or purse, yet has a reinforced cover to ensure durability under the harshest conditions. Full of Sarah’s high-energy wit and verve, Vegan a Go-Go! makes life for vegan travelers a lot less stressful and a lot more fun.

With KramerÂ's latest book, Vegan a Go-Go, we connect with the punk princess of meatlessness once again. This new set of recipes, is collected into a mini-tome so tiny it's no bigger than a change purse. And for practical purpose, because as a Â"survival manual for vegans on the roadÂ", it's designed to be easily tucked into a purse, suitcase, car glove compartment, or even a passport folder. We love the spunky graphic look to it.

I got a little more than I expected when I opened Sarah Kramer's pocket-sized travel guide, Vegan a Go-Go. Sure, it has the usual Kramerish type recipes, but it also has a wealth of plain old reading material. I loved the stories of Kramer as a child traveling with theater parents. I also appreciated the tales of Sarah as a young adult just learning about the world and the troubles that ensued. And I found it interesting how both of these experiences shaped her later adventures.

Cute and Fabulous![]()
I bought "Vegan A Go-Go" for the fun factor, but recommend it for the food factor. Ironically, I've been on the road for the past three months and now that I've settled down I ordered it and have had a blast making the recipes at home. My husband, a Frenchman who is now vegan, loved the Spaghetti and Tofu Balls--fried to a crisp, golden perfection. We also enjoyed the Fettuccini Alfredo, a thick white froth, which I dipped my pinky into and darned if it didn't taste like alfredo! I loved the Bodacious Bean & Barley Soup and You-Must-Make-This Dressing. When I needed something quick and cheesey for our burritos I threw together Wolffie's Nutritional-Yeast Sauce. It was ridiculously easy to make and especially good as a fondue in which I dipped pieces of fried potatoes. It's good times in the kitchen once again with Kramer's "Vegan A Go-Go!" Now go get your own!
Easy to use, great for on-the-go![]()
Thank you Sarah Kramer for such a great cookbook! I use this book often, as I am quite lazy and like to make things that taste great but don't take a lot of effort! I have given this book as a gift, and the person loved it! I especially love the wacky cake recipe, it has impressed people on multiple occasions. The size of it is also perfect because you can throw it in your bag and take it to the grocery store instead of copying everything out of a cookbook. I also like that Sarah has included some tried and true recipes from her other cookbooks, so I don't have to go flipping through for recipes. Highly recommended!
Baby Book Brings It!![]()
This book is a life saver. Even when I am in the city trying new things, the tips are always helpful. Being stuck in new places traveling at times can be daunting, but this book helps a lot. The tips and simple recipes make it a lot easier to stay nourished. There aren't many scientific facts in this vegan book, but when it comes to staying alive while traveling, who is really going to piss and moan about calories and fat? If you are interested in the healthful aspect of things and the "science" of it all, you really need to just use your best judgment. It is a great book. I am a girl who tends to fit whole books in her bag and then wonder why she has a headache at the end of the day, so this baby-book comes in handy. The stamps inside that indicate which recipes will need special ingredients and which are more impressive for say, family, are wonderful because you know what you are getting into. I was so thrilled when this baby came in the mail and I am thrilled to have it with me at all times.
